[i]polyranger: 4th of July weekend

It was great!

I took the kids to the cabin this weekend. [info]rangerslady stayed Friday night and went home early Saturday.

We all went to my sister-in-law's parent's cabin (five miles from my mom's) to watch the big Siren fireworks display. You can see them right from their dock. It was awesome and the kids loved it.

Took them swimming the next day. Not in our lake. Not until they find out what is in the water that killed off the milfoil. Yep, those weeds that spread and take over lakes so thick that you can walk across it almost. Our lake had it. Now...Nothing. No wild rice either. But we still have lily-pads. Last year and this. I hear the DNR is still doing tests on the lakes and the river.

Anyway...Took the kids out for a boat ride. That was awesome! I haven't actually taken the boat out for about ten years. But the kids wanted to go. It was the first time I had actually used our new motor, so I needed a quick tutorial from my brother D.

It was interesting though...We had to use the outhouse because the holding tank was full. We called the usual pumping company, but they said their truck was out of town until Tuesday. We called a different pumping company, but they never called back. Oh well.

But it was just more like real camping I guess.

So I am a little worried about work. I checked my e-mail over the weekend and there was one regarding things I needed to do for a temp who left when I was on vacation (I did know she was leaving before I left). Anyhow, one of the things I needed to do was get her id badge. I wasn't there and no one told me about this- as I kept being told that HR will take care of everything. Anyhow, now I am worried that I am going to get in trouble for this. The good thing is that they deactivate the badge without physically having it, but I am still frustrated that I didn't think about this. I am probably more worried than I need to be, but that is how I am when it comes to work.

Also, if anyone is free tonight- I am kinda bored and would be up to seeing people. Drop me a line. I don't have to work till 9:30 tommorrow and I have some smokey treats.

For those of you keeping score, I never heard back from the guy I met up with some weeks ago. He's not responded to the couple emails I sent, either. So much for that...

>sigh< I don't get it. I thought it went pretty well.

I guess I'm just not going to understand this dating crap. It must just be too subtle of a game, or I'm just not skilled at it.

It's so much easier just to get drunk with them and take 'em home.

Back online...

[i]silvercrowsong: Quiet Living Room Reflections.....

It is CONvergence weekend. This is the first time I have been able to be on line since Wednesday. I am enjoying the hum of the laundry machine and watching Sammy play and Danzig sleep right next to me. Life is good.

To start things off: I really haven't been to the party rooms at CON In mass. This has helped my own CON be more enjoyable. I love you all but large crowds of people wear me out quickly and the halls are to narrow.

However, I have seen a ton of people that I really need to get better at hanging out with after CON is done. (Hmmm, me having a social life again....)

Work has started to be interesting in the Chinese sense. Our clinic managers are starting to announce that they are moving on. We have changed our drug rep policy to match allina's. I think our over all patient population is going to feel the crunch the most. While courting the drug reps seems more like "Use My Product!" They are generally all really great about providing samples and vouchers for people who don't have insurance or who's insurance doesn't cover it. (The majoriy of my client population falls into both categories.) They also usually don't have any limits as to how many samples you can get in a calander year. According to Allina policy you can have one sample of medication per calander year. It is going to be a challenge.

Any who, I did run into folks who want readings this afternoon when things quiet down. I feel really honored since I haven't been advertizing that part of my life in a really long time. Folks remember though. This is good.

Oh, and for Wingedelf and family, I did wear the red silk outfit I bought. It went over incredibly well. There will be pictures when we get that far. I thought about putting the pvc corsett over it but in the final analysis thought it would be too much. I still looked sexy as hell.

My favorite moment of the CON was arriving in the outfit. Going up to 22nd floor to meet Mechgogo at one of his games. Leaning over to give him a kiss and one of the gamers going "Damn!" Mechgogo responding "Yes, It pays to be a geek!"

Good weekend.

I want coffee now.

Internet, please help.

I have tortillas. I need to turn them into tortilla chips. Is this possible? If so, how? I do not have a deep fryer, but I do have an oven and other stuff like that.
